Morning Soreness

Why do you keep waking up sore in the mornings?

Our bodies are meant to wake from sleep feeling refreshed and recharged, but for a lot of people, they spend the first part of their day trying to loosen up from their sleep the night before!

There’s lots of reasons that you may be waking up stiff and sore, but some of the more common ones are:

It could be time for a newer, more supportive mattress

  • Your pillow style may need to be changed or an older pillow may need replaced
  • You may have done a little too much of a certain activity the day before
  • Some joint and arthritic pain may be getting irritated by the lack of movement throughout the night
  • Your muscles may be tightening up and losing mobility throughout the night
  • You may be sleeping in an awkward position
  • You may be a little more stressed than usual and holding extra tension
  • You could be clenching or grinding your jaw leading to morning jaw and neck stiffness
  • Your partner may be secretly elbowing you during the night!
