Could tonic water be good for you?

Apart from being a refreshing summer drink, tonic water contains a unique ingredient called quinine. Quinine was originally used as an anti-malaria treatment, coming from the South American cinchona tree.

It’s since been found to aid in reducing muscle spasms and cramp, particularly night time leg cramps.Like all good things, tonic water still needs to be drank in moderation.

Most of our tonic waters on the shelves contain lots of sugar, and some people can also be really sensitive to too much quinine with heart issues so speak to your medical team if you’re unsure.

However, in moderation, it can certainly have some health benefits!

Good news for your weekend G&T’s!
