Tension headaches are one of the most common reasons people pop a pain killer but they are also one of the most preventable and treatable types of headaches!
Tension headaches can refer pain to the base of the skull, behind the eyes and across the forehead. Sometimes, the pain will even refer to the ears or the nose!
Many factors can lead to tension headaches, including poor posture, stress, lack of sleep, poor sleep positioning, anxiety and often from referred pain from tightened neck, scapular and shoulder muscles.
My job is to figure out what is causing YOUR headaches and treat them accordingly.
In the clinic, I am always seeing new patients coming in suffering from intermittent or continuous headaches, sometimes even chronic debilitating ones.
A lot can be done for these symptoms by decreasing the tension on the surrounding musculoskeletal structures. I may also need to address any postural, flexibility or biomechanical issues that are adding to your headaches too.
Soft Tissue OT can help to prevent your headaches occurring so regularly, or if even at all. You don’t have to keep popping painkillers to control the symptoms.
If you, or someone you know is experiencing headaches, a Soft Tissue OT could just be the help they need .
You can get in touch if you’d like to chat about anything before booking in an OT session, otherwise you can book online at anytime.
